Why de Pinna’s Celebrity Guest House?

You may be wondering where Michael de Pinna’s idea for a celebrity guest house originated:

Michael de Pinna is a recognised celebrity, renowned for his cabaret performances and best known for his antics as the anti-hero in Vodacom’s much loved “Yebo Gogo” series.
But there is more to this loved and talented celebrity than many realise.

Michael was born in London and moved between England and South Africa with his father, GM of The Edward in Durban and The Grosvenor House Hotel in London at the time.

“While I have had many professional incarnations from my early days as a singer and cruise ship director to my new venture into executive décor and dining co-ordination. What they all have in common is my concern with being hospitable. It’s in my blood.

I grew up in hotels because my father was the GM of The Edward in Durban & The Grosvenor House Hotel in London. So taking care of people is what I know. It’s what I have done all my life. When I was young and foolish I told my father that I couldn’t follow in his footsteps because ‘I wasn’t born to serve’, but it turns out I was wrong and that hospitality is the fate I was born for.”

In addition to entertaining, Michael has since branched out into event décor and executive dining, having formed a company with Tania Miles called Over the Top.
